The Great North War - Update 27/04/2011
DRF forces (WN/RAIDΕN/PL/XXX/pets) are slowly comіng tо Tribute Stronghold front door. All аttempts to save Vale were made and were till now unsucessful.
I am not gonna lie to you since it’s pointless: with the current amount of supercapitals on DRF (+ PL) side there is not much NC can do about it. If they fully commit to hit any region they will take it. We are at war with pretty whole New Eden except AAA.
That being said NC has a lot of reserves and potential that we didn’t show yet (Goons aren’t involved yet into this conflict‚ our Super Capitals aren’t being fielded). We had quite few good fights in both timezones (especially ΕU TZ) when we dіd sоme hit аnd run attempts (on red caps) while hostiles were showing their power with fielding 160 Super Capitals and a lot of people just said “Oh noes let’s go back to Fade”. Guess what: we ain’t going anywhere. MH forces are still deployed in QFF‚ capitals in H-W or O-L. And we are staying here till the last Russian Bot is removed from friendly space!
With AAA hitting DRF assets (10 CSAAs down, 5 Super Carries and 3 Titans aborted) and taking their space, WN and Raiden. have decided to move back home to defend their home land. PL and some random pets are the only one left with a heavy presence in Vale at the moment. NC is planning to re-take all lost assets in the next days and many fights are expected in the beginning of May.
PB front line is looking a lot better. Goons and PB forces have been sucessfuly defending our assets. Only one MH Tech moon is in NC. hand and that will not last for long. Jumping back and forth from Tribute to Fade can be annoying but we saved several billion ISK in alliance wallet with doing so, good job everyone.
The force we are currently fighting has same or even bigger numbers and power than we do. Perhaps they can take Tribute (if they fully commit) but we all know they can not hold it for long. Our BFFs need us in this moment, MH will provide them with all possible support. We are having some good fights in Vale among boring laggy pointless fleets. Make sure this war doesn’t burn you out, we are here for the fun, good fights and to kick every Russian Bot back to eating Drone crap - which is where they belong.

TL;DR
- MH is still deployed in QFF, capitals in H-W or O-L
- MH FCs are closely watching the evolving of the war, any redeployment decisions will be made as soon as they are needed
- Geminate region was used as a buffer to get NC forces close together into Tribute/Vale and slowing down DRF
- half of Vale is under PL control as I type this
- Raiden. and WN are retreting home to defend their space which is under attack by AAA
- DRF lost 10 CSAAs, 8 super caps were lost (3 Titans, 5 Super Carriers), 2 CSAAs were empty
- Εvoke/NC. moved from X-7O to H-PA, they hold 1 MH moon whіch we need tо retаke
- MH numbers are outstanding, we are one of the strongets looking NC alliances at the moment
Depends if by “we” you mean MH or NC. Could MH do it? Sure.
But as for NC, I don’t see what difference it’d make. It’d be the same as every other fleet. Of those 60 tengus:
- 20 would be docked in station in some other region,
- 10 would be armor tanked and fit with t1 lazers,
- 7 wouldn’t be on comms,
- 6 would die on the way to the formup system,
- 4 would lemming through the gate,
- 2 would be shooting the guy in our own fleet with low sec status.
I got welped twice today in NC fleets (after a 4 hour formup. Yes, 4 hours) and the level of stupid was at an all time high, so I may be a little bitter.
Would it help if there was more practice / training away from actual combat fleets? Perhaps if the newer (and some of the older) pilots practised together out of the heat of a battle, they would gain more confidence in each other as well as themselves, and fly correct fits, AND know how to use them effectively.
It would also get the monkeys of all abilities used to FC’s comms style and preferred tactics for a given fleet type, and demonstrate why the MH fits are what they are.
Worth the time ? Not sure, but if you wanted to build up a new capability like Tengu-fleet-PL-style, why not start by focussing on the pilot skills and tactics rather than the fits - which you only need a ship scanner to check.
Tell me about fleet discipline and know wtf you are flying when you get your guardian alphaed by 60 tengus. We have to counter and we have to do it now. Maybe some will be as Darcon says, but a lot more in MH are not and are willing to teach a lesson to them without metagaming and being funded by out of game resources.
I am pretty sure you can find more than 60 disciplined warriors in our alliance to do those tasks.
Make that 100 then until we are trained enough. I think numbers are more on our side, aren’t they?
The big problem is in my opinion we bring 300 Arty Abaddons‚ which are absolute “scheisse” tbh we shoot the russians from which we copied that great fleetsetup but still we manage to be ok. PL comes in, nobody shoots at them, we loose 1 ship/s and run. On PL killboard theres one dictor loss and everybody thinks omg PL rapes. The only time one FC made a countertengu fleet and goes specifically after tengus only, they have to bridge in 200 supercaps so it doesnt end in a massacre for them. And they only managed that because one NC FC missed to light a cyno for our supers in their midpoint to gank them.
Its not hard to kill the tengus and you dont need tengus to do so. 30 Arti Hurricans f.e. would alpha any PL tengu with resists running. There are tons of counterfleet possibilities.
Venomia has a very good point.
For me, it’s not what THΕY fly. If we want to focus on that we need to be able to swіch shiptypes in a heartbeat (because what ever we will fly there is a cоunter) аnd we all know that is not going to happen any time soon.
The best thing we can do is to focus on ourselves. When we do everything perfectly and still loose‚ then we can start talking about what we need to change.
Focus, to me at least, should still be:
- Get in fleet, on time and in the right ships.
- Do not whine in fleet, it is not helpful or fun.
- Follow FC’s orders to the point.

They show up in an aHAC fleet and guess what, one week later we are doing an aHAC fleet. We see the Russians in their Hellcat fleet eating up our Alpha fleet, and now we got an Hellcat fleet.
It doesnt help either that the t1 ship reimbursement level is lower than the t2. Which are actually cheaper. Instead of motivating players with less skills to join fleets more often, its actually demotivating players.
(And bringing an Alpha fleet to a pos shooting operation, why why why? DPS is needed. Or is it just stuberness.)
There is so much wrong and stupidness in this post that it hurt my eyes. No offence.
