Steve Albini, producer for In Utero, recalled the high-jinx that took place during the recording of In Utero at Pachyderm Studios in Cannon Falls, Minnesota:

“There’s a cleaning solvent that we use on analogue tape machines, an anhydrous alcohol, extremely flammable. It’s very volatile, meaning that it will sort of evaporate off the surface you put it on as it’s burning, so you can put it on your pants, or your hands, or your feet, or whatever, and set it on fire. As it burns away, it evaporates off the surface, it keeps your skin or your pants or your shoes cool, so you don’t actually burn up but you’re on fire. It’s just a little novelty, and so we were doing that to each other and ourselves quite a lot just for fun. Somewhere there’s a pretty good photo of Krist Novoselic lighting a celebratory cigar out of the flame coming off of Dave Grohl’s butt.”

Mon dieu :asd:

Sobri :asd:

I went to see Nirvana at a small club called the Pyramid on Avenue A in New York City. It was hard to hear the guitar, but the guy playing and singing had a vibe; he hopped around like a muppet or an elf or something, hunched over his guitar, hop hop hop, hippety hippety hop. I loved that. When he sang, he put his voice in this really grating place, and it was kind of devilish sounding. At the end of the set he attacked the drum kit and threw the cymbals, other bits and finally himself into the audience. Later I saw the same guy passing the bar. He was little, with stringy blond hair and a Stooges T-shirt. I felt proud.

Once Igor Stravinsky exclaimed “My God, so much I like to drink Scotch that sometimes I think my name is Igor Stra-whisky”. In later life, Stravinsky would invariably carry around a flask of his favourite 30-year old Ballantine’s whisky from which he would take regular swigs. A doctor in Los Angeles once advised him “Drink plenty Scotch, it’s the best thing”, a recommendation which he gladly followed. He used it as a palliative for bad reviews and even for washing down his medication.

Imo.

allora dovresti guardare anche tu “summer of soul” :sisi:
