My Minecraft movie was created out of disappointment with the official Minecraft movie, which, in my opinion, got many things wrong.
My goal was to create a film that stays as true to the game as possible — from the story and the overall feeling to the small moments that make Minecraft special and show how beautiful this game really is and what it feels like to be Steve. After all, we all control Steve through his eyes.
So aren’t we all a little bit Steve?
In this movie, we get to experience again what it feels like to be Steve and what it’s like to discover the Minecraft world for the very first time.
That’s why the entire film is presented in POV (first-person) — exactly the way we experience the game ourselves — and includes many moments that every true Minecraft fan has experienced before.
