Fanculo a zeb, Mark Rein ha annunciato che la epic farà un annuncio riguardante UT e l’Unreal Engine 4 la prossima settimana su twitch. Cut 'en pasto da phoronix perché la news su beyondunreal non dice praticamente un cassio:

Presumably this will be about an “Unreal Tournament 4” or other UT game update now powered by the Unreal Engine 4 game engine. We can only hope that this time it will feature a native Linux client… In the past the Unreal games have had Linux ports up until the Unreal Tournament 3 controversy where a Linux port was announced, Ryan Gordon was working on the port and had it running on Linux, but then it was ultimately killed off for unknown reasons to the public, and never released. Fortunately, Unreal Engine 4 already has Linux support so hopefully we will see a native Linux client of whatever this forthcoming Unreal game is, especially considering the days of SteamOS. Personalmente… ho una paura fottuta. Se questo sarà un UT mobile edition è la volta buona che smetto di seguire la epic seriamente. Se invece, visto che rein ha postato un’immagine del primo UT, stanno preparando un UT live con l’UE4… :)

Letta da poco la news nell'altra sezione. Devo dire che è un annuncio che aspettavo da parecchio tempo, lo speravo ma ci credevo poco. Adesso sembra che ci siamo veramente, anche se bisognerà vedere di preciso di cosa si tratta. Penso che per la Epic questa è l'ultima chance per portare nuovamente in auge una saga leggendaria come quella di UT, quindi non gli sarà permesso di sbagliare nulla. Non ci resta che attendere ancora pochi giorni e vedere cosa bolle in pentola, incrociamo le dita .

Comunque sia, se trovo giocatori online anche solo per un anno, io ci sarò. Sono disposto a pagare per un server dedicato e tirare su un clan assieme ai volenterosi.
per ora dopo 9 minuti: ufficiale nuovo UT, Free e non F2P(l'ha specificato a voce), sviluppato per pc e mac ( non ha accennato nulla riguardo le console), daranno molta importanza alla community per lo sviluppo.
Hanno detto che il game sarà free, ma non free to play. Linux, Windows e Mac OS Hanno intenzione di collaborare con la community, hanno messo su una pagina su github per quello Il gioco si chiamerà "Unreal Tournament" perché hanno intenzione di fare un progetto che vada avanti nel tempo, qualcosa di semidefinitivo ma portato avanti
