Grazie.
"Block Size - Performance optimization
Block size is the size of the small fragments a file is being split into when being divided on the hard drives in a RAID 0 system. Working with small block sizes there'll have to be sent many small messages to the hard drives, what can reduce the speed of the operation, but only if the files are big. Working with big block sizes will make the RAID system work more "sliding", however there'll be no extra performance if you work with files that are smaller than the block size.
NOTICE: Not all RAID controllers feature adjustment of the block size. All Promise controllers do, and most controllers made by HighPoint don't.
Normally it's recommended using a big block size (approximately 64kb) for computers working a lot with video, sound and pictures. It would be proper using a block size on 32kb, for windows/gaming systems.
Working with small files (e.g. on special FTP servers) use a block size on approximately 16kb. That's what I would have done.
Anyway the block size is only an adjustment of the system, and there'll be no noticeable difference talking performance. If you doubt what to do just set the block size on 32kb. However it's not important. "

)
